Beef ribs with black pepper sauce



One of my favorite dishes to order out from Chinese restaurants is the short ribs with a black pepper sauce. Last night for dinner I took a crack at it for myself it came out really good.  The key is to make sure you marinade the beef ribs for at least 2-3 hours before you stir fry it.



Marinade Beef ribs

1-2  TBL of light soy sauce

1 TBL of Shoaxing wine

1-2 TBL of Dark soy sauce

1 TBL of black pepper paste

2 minced garlic cloves

2 tsp of sugar

2 tsp of cornstarch

1 teaspoon of oil

Mix these ingredients together with the beef ribs and allow it to sit in the refrigerator for a least 2-3 hours before cooking time.

Prepare for veggies

1 yellow onion  thinly sliced length wise ( Juilene )

3 -4 stalks of celery cut thinly on a diagnoal

1 green bell pepper thinly sliced ( Juilene)

1 tsp of black pepper paste

1 TBL Salt and   1-2 teaspoon of fresh cracked black pepper


Cooking time

Place a wok on the stove and turn the burner to medium heat allow it to heat it up. Take the time to make sure all your veggies are cut and ready to go and take out the beef ribs that have been marinading in the refrigerator.

Next, add some cooking oil to the wok turn the heat up to medium high eat flame and then toss in the beef ribs allow it to cook through on each side. Once the beef ribs are cooked through take it out into a bowl set aside.

Then you take the veggies add all of them into the wok and add some salt and 1 TBL of black pepper paste and stir-fry it. Once the veggies have been cooking for about 3 minutes return the beef ribs to the wok and add the 1-2 tsp of black pepper and stir fry it again then serve it up with some white rice.
